MAKING MAGIC: Tips to make your life happier, healthier and more fulfilling. New Moon Magic: You’ve heard of wishing on a star, but how about wishing on a new moon? The energy of a new moon offers strong possibilities for directing urges and wishes. For two weeks the energy of the moon increases; then for two weeks it declines. Wishes are seeds. If you make a list of four or five wishes in the two-day period following a new moon, you’ll see positive growth, if not total fulfillment, of that wish. Every month the moon is in a different sign of the zodiac. By relating your wish to the appropriate sign and its qualities, you can channel it even further in the right direction. (You can find moon signs in an Ephemeris or any good astrological calendar.) Try making a wish list (write it by hand for best effect) any time up to 48 hours following a new moon. Include 5-8 items, setting them down on paper. You may be surprised and pleased by what transpires in the months to come. If you made a similar wish list before and nothing happened, it’s a sign that it might be time to take a good look at your goals and methods of achieving them. Sometimes a wish requires a higher level of consciousness before it can come true. Look inside and see if that’s true for you. Spring Equinox New Moons 2007 April 17, 6:37 PM Every Spring the new moon falls in Aries. Aries is the best moon to make bold, adventurous wishes involving self-direction, courage and leadership. It’s also the first new moon of the Solar year. For that reason, you can project its energy for the entire year. Spring Equinox Wish Map: For this very important moon, try making a wish “map”. Create a collage of pictures and graphics indicating a year’s worth of wish possibilities. The only rule is to fill it full of positive things you want to manifest. The best time to do this is with the New Moon at the beginning of each solar year and for 48 hours following. Don’t worry if you’re a little late. Just try it. Check out the sample one below.
One final tip: think carefully about your wish. If it’s a wish about growth, this is the best time to plant the seed. If you wish to end something such as a smoking habit, however, the time to begin that wish would be right after the full moon, when the energy declines for two weeks. Want to know more?
